Abstract
En 1890, le peintre Ozias Leduc (1864-1955) construit un atelier sur la terre familiale au pied du mont Saint-Hilaire. Il en fait également sa résidence, condensant dans cet espace relativement restreint l’individu et le créateur. C’est dans cet atelier nommé Correlieu « un endroit où le coeur est en tout » que Leduc élabore son oeuvre pendant plus de 60 ans. L’article décrit l’atelier au plan physique et s’intéresse aux différentes fonctions qu’il a jouées dans la carrière du peintre. Correlieu est surtout un espace de création, mais aussi un lieu où il peut accrocher ou entreposer les oeuvres disponibles pour le marché et un endroit pour traiter de ses affaires. Ce qui est remarquable cependant c’est la quantité et la diversité des visiteurs qui se sont rendus rencontrer Leduc faisant de son atelier un foyer artistique et intellectuel.
