On s’interrogera sans doute sur l’idée même de ce « regard clinique » sur les causes de l’inachèvement des projets d’émancipation coloniale de 1837 et de 1838 au Bas-Canada. Un regard clinique n’est pas une autopsie ! Le propos est d’identifier, de pondérer et de hiérarchiser ces causes.
