L’analyse de la situation post-coloniale française contemporaine, par le biais de l’art et plus particulièrement du théâtre, permet de mettre à jour des dimensions politiques - nationales et internationales quant aux revendications afros ou panafricaines -, mais révèle également des imaginaires eux-mêmes porteurs de forts contenus politiques. Cet essai indique comment, à l’échelle de la scène théâtrale française aujourd’hui, la quasi-absence des acteurs non blancs au plateau et les tentatives de renversement de cet état de fait, entres autres en bloquant l’accès à certaines pièces considérées racistes, font partie d’un vaste ensemble de revendications découlant du contexte de colonisation puis de décolonisation à l’échelle mondiale. L’étude des stratégies des descendants des populations issues des colonies françaises pour conquérir les scènes théâtrales sera au cœur de cet article. La mise en parallèle avec celles des Afro-brésiliens a pour objectif d’expliciter des stratégies distinctes tant de politiques publiques que militantes dans de différents contextes d’invisibilisation des minorités.
