Abstract
L’éducation à l’environnement doit se faire à partir du cadre de vie de la population et s’adresser aussi bien aux scolaires qu’aux jeunes et aux adultes et à toutes les catégories d’habitants. L’écomusée est une structure qui répond à cet objectif. L’environnement naturel, la géologie, la flore et la faune, le paysage font partie du patrimoine de la communauté et celle-ci en est co-responsable. À partir d’une description rapide de la relation de l’écomusée à l’environnement et de la diversité des méthodes utilisées dans plusieurs pays, un exemple sera choisi pour approfondir les pratiques d’un écomusée qui se veut médiateur entre l’environnement et la population. L’écomusée de la Serra de Ouro Preto au Brésil sera décrit, par sa coordonnatrice, selon différents thèmes : inventaire participatif du patrimoine, éducation à l’environnement, relation au tourisme, aide à la recherche.
