Abstract
Depuis une quarantaine d’années, les recherches en histoire de la communauté sourde française s’appuient principalement sur la richesse de trois siècles de sources archivistiques conservées à l’Institut National des Jeunes Sourds ( INJS ) à Paris. Cependant, les recherches récentes s’intéressant de plus en plus à l’histoire sociale et l’histoire associative sourde, ces archives commencent à montrer leurs limites. L’apport des nouvelles technologies, que ce soient par la numérisation des sources, la reconnaissance des textes, l’usage de la généalogie, et de nouvelles sources d’archives apportent une vision renouvelée de l’histoire sourde française par une compréhension plus nuancée de ses interactions avec la société française.
