« Pour la grande majorité des écrivains africains actuels, il s’agit d’envisager l’oralité comme le fondement d’une spécificité du roman africain contemporain. Ils exploitent les ressources orales pour en faire le catalyseur d’une nouvelle esthétique du roman, d’où la présence constante des ‘‘voix populaires dans leurs univers fictifs’’ », dit M. Borgomano. Les normes rigides fixes de la grammaire constituent un vrai écueil au bon fonctionnement de la langue. Si le foisonnement des constructions elliptiques confère au récit de fiction une valeur de texte influencé par l’oral, il n’en demeure pas moins que l’emploi du monosyllabique s’oriente sensiblement vers une perspective de récits oralisés.
