Abstract
Esta investigacion se centra en el analisis del caso del Distrito Cultural de Leicester (Reino Unido), conocido como el Leicester´s Cultural Quarter (CQart) y, mas en concreto, en como se ha generado su marca distrito cultural. El objetivo de la misma es determinar el proceso a traves del cual se ha revitalizado el barrio de San Jorge, un espacio industrial en desuso en la ciudad de Leicester, haciendo de el un espacio creativo. En torno a este barrio se crea un proceso de recuperacion del espacio que hace que se presente como un entorno para trabajar, habitar y disfrutar a traves de diferentes actividades de ocio. Asi, se estudia como el CQart se consolida como una marca distrito cultural que se presenta como ejemplo a estudiar para poder extraer de el conclusiones aplicables a proyectos de revitalizacion y de generacion de marca distrito cultural en el futuro. Por lo tanto, se plantea una investigacion centrada en un trabajo de campo, a traves del cual se recoge informacion in situ para conocer el proyecto desarrollado por el Ayuntamiento de Leicester para revitalizar la zona. A este trabajo de campo y de recogida de informacion, se le suma la realizacion de una serie de entrevistas semiestructuradas a diferentes expertos en industrias creativa y revitalizacion de espacios. Igualmente, se estudian diferentes proyectos de investigacion cientificos desarrollados en torno al distrito por la Universidad de Leicester, tales como el proyecto Affective Digital Histories y la aplicacion para moviles St. George’s Cultural Quarter
