Abstract

Introdução: É fundamental para atenção básica de saúde rastrear a presença de fragilidade em pessoas idosos e o seu suporte social para que assim os recursos de saúde disponíveis sejam utilizados de forma a promover atendimento terapêutico adequado. Objetivo: Analisar a relação entre fragilidade e suporte social em idosos cadastrados em Unidade de Saúde da Família em uma região de alta vulnerabilidade social. Materiais e Métodos: Estudo transversal e quantitativo. Participaram do estudo pessoas com idade a partir de 60 anos ou mais cadastrados em uma Unidade de Saúde da Família. Os participantes foram avaliados pela Escala de Fragilidade de Edmonton; Avaliação Autorreferida de Fragilidade; Tilburg Frailty Indicator e Medical Outcomes Study. Todos os aspectos éticos foram respeitados (Número de Parecer: 2.375.412). Resultados: A maioria dos participantes eram homens, 57,10%, 44,60% eram casados e 55,40% não eram aposentados. A fragilidade medida pela Escala de Fragilidade de Edmonton indicou que 51,3% dos respondentes apresentaram fragilidade em algum nível, na Avaliação Autorreferida, 44,60% dos entrevistados eram frágeis e para o Tilburg Frailty Indicator, 75% indicaram fragilidade. O suporte social dos participantes apresentou uma média de 70,47 pontos. Houve indicação de correlação entre a fragilidade e o suporte social, porém não foi significante. Conclusões: O estudo apresentou relação entre fragilidade e suporte social. O estudo avaliou a fragilidade dos idosos com instrumentos de rastreio que possibilitam a identificação precoce da fragilidade, visando à formulação de estratégias preventivas pelas equipes de atenção primária à saúde com vistas ao planejamento de cuidado de longa duração.
