Abstract
A principios del siglo XVIII, los talleres del Midi tolosano se hallan frente a una competencia italiana muy activa por la venta a precio baratísimo de una cerámica con decorado de manchas negras. Haciendo cabotaje a lo largo de las costas mediterráneas los mercaderes de la costa de Génova despachan los productos del norte de la península. Abastecen los grandes puertos franceses y así alcanzan la Nouvelle-Ecosse a la par que contruyen una red densa en la región de Toulouse sobre todo en su capital. Mientras que la primera mitad del siglo XIX es para la cerámica de manchas negras una fase de decadencia en su patria, numerosos ceramistas tolosanos se apoderan de esa técnica ; ayudados por tránsfugas italianos, se lanzan en la fabricación de ese tipo de producto barato. La cerámica de Liguria y la región de Toulouse ilustran las relaciones complejas que se establecen entre las redes de exportación de un producto y los procesos de evolución que esos intercambios fomentan en los productoresde dicho territorio.
