Abstract
L’auteur de ces lignes est le seul citoyen suisse appartenant au «Wissenschaftlicher Beirat» («Comité consultatif scientifique») de la revue «Europa Ethnica». Or, la Suisse est l’un des rares Etats européens à s’enorgueillir à ce point de son pluralisme linguistique et culturel. L’auteur se fait un devoir de répondre à l’aimable invitation de cette revue à collaborer à son numéro d’automne. Il le fait en français, l’une des quatre langues nationales et officielles de la Confédération, langue de sept de ses Etats cantonaux fédérés et de plusieurs pays européens et africains, sans oublier le Canada et Haïti, bref une langue de rang mondial. La citation d’un ouvrage allemand (note 4) est ici traduite en français.
