Abstract
Quelles pourraient être les spécificités de la recherche-création médiatique pratiquée dans le domaine des communications? Afin de proposer une réponse préliminaire à cette question, notre petit récit prend pour contexte le développement des programmes de cycles supérieurs en recherche-création à la Faculté de communication de l’Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) à partir des années 1980. Posant d’abord la recherche-création comme un ensemble de pratiques visant à produire divers types de connaissances par une articulation entre ces deux composantes, nous poursuivons sur quelques distinctions entre les visées de la création artistique et celles de la création médiatique. Ce parcours réflexif nous permet d’identifier des propositions afin de guider cette pratique dans le contexte des études en communication, ainsi que de souligner quelques apports de l’UQAM et de ses acteurs à l’essor de la recherche-création.
