Cet article examine la façon dont l’héritage de Góngora est reçu pendant le temps des novateurs, tant sur le plan de la production théorique que sur celui de la production poétique de l’époque. L’accent est mis sur le caractère ambivalent de la réception gongorine : il y a, d’un côté, une exaltation verbale de Góngora qui s’oppose à une pratique nullement gongorine, de l’autre, une théorisation classicisante et anti-gongorine accompagnée d’un indubitable amour pour la poésie de Góngora ou d’une incontournable inscription de celle-ci dans le discours poétique de la période. Nous analysons enfin la fonction de Góngora dans le processus complexe d’«iconisation» culturelle qui est associée à l’élaboration de l’identité nationale, domaine politique plus fécond que celui d’«anxiété d’influence».
