Abstract
Cet article propose un survol de quelques textes des traditions patristiques et rabbiniques où la mère anonyme du chapitre 7 du 2 ème livre des Maccabées occupe une place importante. Dans un premier temps, je présenterai les textes chrétiens et juifs retenus. Puis, dans un deuxième temps, j’examinerai certains des thèmes soulevés tant dans les textes des Pères de l’Église latine que ceux des sages du Talmud de Babylone, c’est-à-dire la dénomination, la maternité et la joie de la mère. Enfin, j’examinerai les comparaisons les plus fréquemment rencontrées dans les textes des deux traditions. De la sorte, les multiples visages de la première martyre de la littérature monothéiste et les processus de christianisation et de rabbinisation à l’œuvre dans la réception des martyrs de 2 M et 4 M seront mis au jour.
