Abstract
Esse artigo tem como objetivo discutir como a competência em informação pode apoiar as organizações a superar as barreiram que atrapalham o processo de inovação no contexto da Indústria 4.0. O foco é ajudar os professionais a vencer estes desafios por meio da competência em informação. A metodologia é baseada em uma pesquisa bibliográfica, a fim de demonstrar a lacuna teórica sobre competência em informação e Indústria 4.0. Além disso, um quadro foi desenvolvido para explicar a inter-relação de tais conceitos. No final, apresenta-se um modelo conceitual para ajudar os professionais a lidar com as barreiras que prejudicam a inovação das empresas, especialmente aquelas que já estão adotando a tecnologia da Indústria 4.0. As considerações finais demonstram que a competitividade depende da veracidade da informação e da qualidade da inovação. A competência em informação é uma ferramenta fundamental para enfrentar os fatores que prejudiquem a inovação, pois no contexto da Indústria 4.0, os indivíduos precisam ser capacitados para interpretar a informação.
