O presente artigo trata da questão imobiliária no Brasil, mais especificamente do Programa "Minha Casa, Minha Vida" (PMCMV) e o envolvimento das construtoras na polí­tica habitacional do governo federal. Apresenta a configuração desse programa e como funcionam as faixas e fases, bem como são repassados os fundos pelo Orçamento Geral da União (OGU), como é a participação dos Ministérios das Cidades, das Instituições Financeiras e as construtoras. Demonstra o estudo dos das unidades habitacionais do PMCV lançadas até o último trimestre de 2018, a evolução das produções dessas unidades fazendo uma análise das tipologias existentes, analisando os fundos disponibilizados e o valor do metro quadrado em algumas regiões brasileiras.
