Bruno Diehl et Gérard Doublet portent un regard d'experts sur le management de France Télécom et sur les transformations de l'entreprise sous les directions successives de Michel Bon, Thierry Breton et Didier Lombard. Ils montrent comment un excès d'endettement constitué au beau milieu de l'euphorie boursière de l'an 2000 a réduit la stratégie à une gestion financière doublée d'investissements techniques. L'objectif de faire partir des milliers de collaborateurs fut mis en œuvre au détriment d'une politique managériale digne de ce nom. Après plusieurs années de souffrance du personnel, Stéphane Richard doit restaurer la confiance.
