Abstract
L’objectif de ce texte est de montrer que le Conseil du statut de la femme (CSF) a été un laboratoire d’idées qui a exercé une influence réelle sur l’État et sur la société québécoise, la conduisant à adhérer pleinement au principe de l’égalité entre les femmes et les hommes. Cette influence a été modulée dans le temps et a fluctué selon plusieurs facteurs, dont : le profil des présidentes qui se sont succédé depuis 1973, certains éléments de conjoncture politique comme le référendum de 1980 ainsi que les moyens matériels mis à la disposition du CSF pour remplir son mandat.
