Abstract
Somme théâtrale écrite entre 1967 et 1969, Par-dessus bord constitue l’envers de Mai 1968 : une épopée du capitalisme. Ce chef d’œuvre de Michel Vinaver est créé par Christian Schiaretti au TNP dans sa version intégrale pour la première fois en France. Il décrit la lutte d’une entreprise familiale française traditionnelle contre la concurrence agressive des États-Unis et sa transformation ultime en multinationale américaine dernier cri. Dans cette guerre des mondes se joue l’américanisation de notre société. S’y décident les fondements de notre monde moderne, de la libéralisation des mœurs à la mondialisation, du marketing à la société de consommation, du management à la civilisation des loisirs. À travers le prisme de l’entreprise, cette vaste fresque de trente comédiens et deux fois trois heures brasse les univers de notre révolution culturelle où se mêlent, dans une gigantesque comédie, dieux scandinaves et happenings new age, drame shakespearien et farce aristophanienne, free jazz et papier toilette.
