Abstract
{Camera Eye} de Jean-Luc Godard : un essai politique filmé. {Camera Eye}, film militant de Jean-Luc Godard qui porte sur la guerre du Vietnam, n’est pas un banal film de propagande : s’il soutient de manière univoque la cause nord-vietnamienne, il ne manque pas de forcer le spectateur à s’interroger, car le film lui-même s’interroge sur l’acte de filmer. En effet, Godard, n’ayant pu se rendre sur place, contraint par l’éloignement, se demande comment filmer et que filmer. En réalité, cet éloignement convient exactement à sa pratique du montage compris comme rapprochement de choses qui ne sont pas disposées à être rapprochées, c'est-à-dire qui sont éloignées (par ex. Godard cinéaste et les Nord-Vietnamiens, ou Godard et les ouvriers français en grève, ou les différents opprimés dans le monde). L’éloignement peut être surmonté par le cinéma en tant qu’il nous permet d’être envahis par les images du conflit, et Godard invite le spectateur à lutter là où il est, le renvoyant ainsi à sa responsabilité politique (comment va-t-il réagir face à la situation présente ?).
