Abstract
Cet article traite de la gestion des organisations bénévoles (VO), un sujet peu étudié dans la littérature sur la stratégie et la gestion. Premièrement, le bénévolat est considéré comme (1) une activité librement décidée, faite pour des raisons altruistes, bénéficiant à quelqu’un d’autre qu’à celui qui le fait, (2) généralement effectué dans des organisations qui ont un personnel permanent; (3) est associé à des organisations à but non lucratif (NPO). Les organisations de bénévoles sont omniprésentes et si elles sont considérées ensemble, elles constitueront presque partout l’industrie dominante. Ensuite, ce qu’on sait de la gestion des organisations de bénévoles et des déterminants de leur performance est discuté. Cette recherche met l’accent sur la gouvernance et la gestion stratégique en relation avec la performance des organisations des bénévoles .
