Abstract
Syftet med artikeln är konceptuellt, att föra fram förslag på ett antal olika begrepp som gör det möjligt att diskutera och tolka idrottens centrala position i vår samtid på fler sätt än de som för närvarande står till buds. Begrepp som underhållningsidrott, aura, nostalgi och kollektivt minne är de som här fokuseras. Artikeln är disponerad enligt följande: Avsnitt 1 diskuterar begreppet underhållningsidrott som centralt då den typen av idrott skall förstås som industri/bransch från ett företagsekonomiskt perspektiv. Begreppet förnekas dock av Riksidrottsförbundet då det inte är i överensstämmelse med RF:s och Sveriges idrottsideologi. I avsnitt 2 introduceras kort massmedias centrala roll som huvudsaklig medproducent av de immateriella värden – aura och nostalgi – som utgör underhållningsidrottens huvudsakliga företagsekonomiska resurs. Med avstamp i en nationalekonomisk iakttagelse, diskuteras i avsnitt 3 begreppet aura mer ingående. Avsnitt 4 slutligen, ger via det ishockeyrelaterade fallet Molson Centre i Montreal, Canada, ett empiriskt grundat exempel på hur begreppet nostalgi kan bidra till att förstå entreprenöriell omorganisering av de koncentrerade emotioner som underhållningsidrotten frammanar.
