En 1955, a l'âge de huit ans et demi, Anny Duperey decouvre ses parents, Ginette et Lucien Legras, asphyxies au monoxyde de carbone dans leur salle de bains. Cette scene tragi que provoque chez elle une amnesie permanente. De sa petite enfance et de ses parents, elle ne conservera aucun souvenir.
