Abstract
Inflation targeting is an important monetary policy used to ensure price stability. It is safer in terms of implementing inflation targeting, which is a rule-based monetary policy. After 2006, however implicit targeting policies implemented during the 2002-2005 period in Turkey has been a clear shift toward inflation targeting policy. Inflation targeting was first implemented in 1990 in New Zealand. The purpose of this study is to question whether the inflation targeting policy is successful in selected OECD member countries. For this purpose, in this study, the analysis of the facts was carried out in the selected OECD member countries, where the inflation targeting policy was used. Our findings show that the inflation targeting regime implemented in New Zealand, Canada and the UK has been successful. We also see that Turkey has not yet reached its intended destination.
