L’éducation séculière québécoise s’inscrit parmi celles qui, tout en adhérant au bien-fondé de prendre en compte le cheminement spirituel de ses jeunes, démontrent dans les faits de timides dispositions dans ce sens. Les raisons de ce constat invitent à une relecture du concept de spiritualité pour ensuite, à la lumière des repères théoriques qui en sont issus et face à la crise environnementale de notre temps, s’intéresser à un axe de son développement dans une perspective environnementale. Il sera question d’exposer la pertinence d’un modèle éducationnel en ce sens selon une perspective d’éducation relative à l’environnement au sein du programme d’éducation québécois, qui rejoint la préoccupation mondiale d’un vivre ensemble élargi à l’ensemble de la communauté de vie. Le développement d’une telle compétence éco-psycho-spirituelle selon une éthique de la reliance permettrait d’engager le sens de la responsabilité par un savoir-être et un agir éco-citoyens.
