Abstract
In 1920s,modern nursing initiated in a real sense in Henan northern regions.With the introduction of advanced nursing philosophy,the arrival of nursing professionals from Canada,the construction of many modem specialized hospitals,the establishment of standard nursing schools and the graduation of the first group of Chinese professional nurses,modern nursing had built its foundation in Henan northern regions.Part of this was attributable to the macro-historical factor that the Chinese society was going through a transformation of modernization,which made the Chinese people more open to modern medicine,and also to a number of specific reasons,among which the unselfish dedication and superb professionalism of those foreign nurses played a key Key words: Henan northern regions; Modern nursing; Nursing development; Initiation
