Abstract
La Société Radio-Canada (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation), seul service public de diffusion télévisuelle et radiophonique du Canada, a subi les effets d’importantes mesures d’austérité gouvernementale. Parallèlement, les grands groupes médiatiques se sont consolidés. En conséquence, de nombreux journalistes ont été contraints de réaliser des sujets pour de multiples organes de presse apparentés en n’ayant guère de temps pour effectuer leur travail d’investigation, se fondant essentiellement, pour les questions liées à l’éducation, sur les communiqués de presse fournis par le gouvernement et par d’autres sources institutionnelles. Le militantisme des jeunes ainsi que les questions liées à l’injustice du système et à la marchandisation de l’éducation font encore l’objet d’un faible traitement médiatique, mais il est possible aux spécialistes de l’éducation, aux chercheurs et aux militants de faciliter le débat sur l’éducation.
