George Shirinian Kanada'nın Toronto kentinde 1984'te faaliyete başlayan Zoryan Enstitüsüne bağlı Uluslararası Soykırım ve İnsan Hakları Araştırmaları Enstitüsü İcra Direktörüdür. İlk olarak 1982'de Amerika Birleşik Devletlerinde (ABD) Cambridge/Massachusetts'te kurulan Zoryan Enstitüsü adını Ermeni Taşnak Partisinin kurucularından Stepan Zoryan'dan almakta ve bu partinin görüşleri doğrultusunda araştırma ve yayın yapmaktadır. Bu organ ABD'deki zengin Ermenilerin bağışlarıyla ayakta durmaktadır. Kuruluşunun üzerinden çok geçmeden Zoryan Enstitüsündeki çalışmaların bilim dışı amaçlara yöneldiği görülmüştür. Nitekim bu merkezin müessislerinden Gerard Libaridian, kendi niyetinin çağdaş meselelerin çok yönlü bir yaklaşımla tartışılabileceği bir enstitü yaratmak olduğunu, fakat bu kuruluşun daha sonraları konuların bilimsel bir ortamda ele alınmasıyla yetinmeyip, bazı belli hedeflerin gerçekleştirilmesi yoluna girdiğini ve dolayısıyla bugün artık partizan ve politik olanın dışında bir işe pek el atmadığını açık bir dille itiraf etmiştir.
