Abstract
Este trabalho tem como objetivo refletir sobre a formação cidadã a partir da abordagem da Alfabetização Científica e Tecnológica (ACT). Para desenvolver esta pesquisa, partiu-se da compreensão ampliada da ACT, que se constitui um desafio na educação básica, na medida em que a escola precisa superar a formação tradicional e livresca ainda presente nos currículos escolares. Quanto aos procedimentos metodológicos, trata-se de uma pesquisa bibliográfica, de abordagem qualitativa. Em revistas digitais especializadas, foram selecionados artigos que tratam sobre a temática em questão. As análises dos artigos coletados indicam que as ações da ACT, aliadas a outras habilidades humanas, poderão contribuir para o desenvolvimento dos discentes, visando sua autonomia e consciência crítica.
