La catégorisation des erreurs linguistiques : une grille de codage fondée sur la grammaire moderne

Abstract
Nous présentons une grille de catégorisation des erreurs linguistiques organisée en quatre niveaux hiérarchiques, comprenant cent-treize codes et ayant servi au codage d’erreurs dans mille-six-cent-vingt-et-un textes d’élèves du primaire et du secondaire québécois. La grille reflète l’organisation conceptuelle des notions de la grammaire moderne. Les erreurs se répartissent en cinq catégories de niveau 1 : « syntaxe », « orthographe grammaticale », « grammaire textuelle », « orthographe lexicale » et « lexique ». La catégorie « syntaxe » se divise en six catégories de niveau 2, incluant « phrase simple » et « phrase complexe », qui comprend au niveau 3 « choix du subordonnant », « subordonnées participiales et infinitives », « coordination et juxtaposition », etc. La catégorie « orthographe grammaticale » se subdivise aussi en catégories de niveaux 2 et 3. Nous proposons quatre critères pour évaluer une grille de codage : adéquation à un modèle théorique , adéquation empirique , complétude et comparabilité , et montrons comment la grille répond à ces critères.
