Cet article dresse le profil des entreprises de la transition socioécologique et s’interroge sur le potentiel des entreprises québécoises qui se réclament de « l’économie verte » à contribuer à cette transition. À partir d’une revue de littérature alliant les théories de la transition, l’entrepreneuriat soutenable et l’économie verte, nous proposons un cadre pour définir l’entreprise de la transition socioécologique (ETSÉ). À partir de ce cadre, une enquête par questionnaire effectuée auprès de 38 PME québécoises identifiées à l’économie verte nous a permis d’élaborer une typologie constituée de 2 groupes d’entreprises selon l’approche de l’analyse des données. Le premier groupe inclut des entreprises qui s’inscrivent dans la reproduction des régimes sociotechniques actuels et qui favorisent des changements davantage incrémentaux. Le deuxième groupe regroupe des entreprises qui poursuivent une stratégie de transition socioécologique visant la transformation des régimes sociotechniques dans le but de répondre aux crises écologiques et climatiques auxquelles l’humanité est aujourd’hui confrontée. Ces analyses nous amènent à conclure que différentes trajectoires de transition se cachent derrière le discours de l’économie verte.
