Cet ouvrage collectif, réalisé en hommage au professeur de linguistique Christian Puech, vise à faire un « état des lieux » de cette discipline. L’ouvrage est constitué de 31 courts textes n’ayant que peu de liens entre eux, lesquels sont classés en 7 sections. Chacune des sections vise à rendre compte de la variété des intérêts de recherche de Puech en suivant une logique approximativement chronologique de l’évolution de la discipline.
