This paper presents a new computer tool used to evaluate a large number of student teams using rubrics. The system makes use of smartphones and tablets to enter marks on a web site where all results are stored and processed. Various data can be exported at the end. The new system uses scrollers to quickly fill out the rubric on a smartphone. This system has reduced the amount of paper, the number of errors and the time to manually process all the marks of a first-year project-based course at Polytechnique Montréal. An administrator with a laptop can create, manage and follow the evaluation event itself more easily compared to the paper version.
