Abstract
Le texte vise à penser la classe moyenne et son rôle durant les élections présidentielles de 2018 qui ont élu Jair Messias Bolsonaro, du Parti Social Liberal (PSL), au Palais du Planalto. Comme thèse principale, le texte argumente que la classe moyenne n’a pas sa propre identité de classe et, ainsi, prend les références culturelles des classes aisées. En conséquence de cette absence d’idéologie propre, la classe moyenne, comme tentative de se différencier, démontre préjugés contre les classes populaires. Pour comprendre cette question, le texte est divisé en trois moments. Premièrement, une analyse historique de la formation de la classe moyenne est faite ; après, l’émergence de la « nouvelle » classe moyenne est discutée ; dans un troisième moment, la perception de la classe moyenne sur la crise économique globale de 2008 est présentée.
