Théâtre, traduction et déracimilation. Marco Micone et l’expérience de l’écriture cathartique

Abstract
Cet article analyse l’expérience d’écriture du traducteur italo-canadien Marco Micone comme un phénomène de catharsis identitaire et culturelle. Micone approche la traduction comme une manière de récupérer le capital littéraire (et linguistique) manquant : le travail traductologique sur le théâtre engagé l’aide à dépasser le traumatisme causé par l’émigration. Je propose ici le néologisme « dér-ac-imilation », pour expliquer le fait que les étapes de l’écriture miconienne passent à travers trois phases : le déracinement (raison pour laquelle il aborde l’écriture) ; l’acceptation (du nouveau contexte phénoménologique, grâce au pouvoir cathartique de l’écriture théâtrale) ; et finalement, l’assimilation, qui ne suppose guère la suppression du passé immigrant mais qui, au contraire, existe dans la mesure où celui-ci reste incorporé dans le présent. Cet article offre une réflexion sur la traduction comme espace littéraire où renégocier et redéfinir le paradigme identitaire, sans nécessairement renoncer à la culture source, pour mieux s’intégrer dans la société d’accueil. Ce serait une assimilation qui voit dans la traduction, et donc, dans l’apport de nouveau capital littéraire et symbolique (dans ce cas, la traduction de pièces engagées italiennes), un moyen pour l’émigré d’ennoblir et de réhabiliter sa figure. Un véritable passeport qui lui donnerait le droit de circuler ailleurs et d’exporter sa propre « marchandise intellectuelle culturelle ».
