Abstract
L’étude entend démontrer le lien singulier qui existe entre Aragon et l’auteur congolais Henri Lopes. On part d’une rencontre littéraire en ces années cinquante annonciatrices des futures décolonisations africaines pour montrer comment, à ses débuts, l’auteur de La Nouvelle romance met à profit le réalisme socialiste tel qu’il est représenté à travers les trois figures féminines des Cloches de Bâle. Mais ce réalisme semble tourner court, confronté qu’il est aux questions tribales du Congo et à l’échec des indépendances. L’apparente similitude du roman familial des deux auteurs offre une porte de sortie à Henri Lopes. Dans plusieurs de ses textes, le métis des colonies, toujours de « père inconnu », retrouve alors une dignité littéraire. Le « mentir-vrai » permet de déployer toutes sortes de discours sur le métissage dont celui qui le constitue à la fois comme être d’enracinement et d’universalité.
