Abstract
Haut lieu de l’activité industrielle durant plusieurs siècles, la vallée de l’Ondaine est aujourd’hui encore marquée par les traces de l’industrialisation. Au sein de celle-ci, l’héritage minier est une trace prégnante au regard de l’importance de l’extraction houillère dans l’histoire de ce territoire. Malgré une phase de deuil débutant à la fin des années 1970, les acteurs locaux ont encore des difficultés à prendre en compte les artefacts miniers dans leurs politiques territoriales. La vallée de l’Ondaine, majoritairement composée de trois petites villes dont les populations oscillent entre 8 000 et 16 000 habitants, nous donne à voir un territoire sur lequel s’expriment trois « projets » différents en matière de gestion de l’héritage minier. Le paysage est ainsi l’expression de ces « projets » considérant l’héritage minier comme un élément qui participe à la construction d’un imaginaire, qui constitue également une ressource à exploiter et parfois une histoire à oublier au profit d’un autre récit du territoire.
