Abstract
The paper analyses the Quebec Parental Leave Insurance Program in order to point out its effects on the behaviour of companies and parents in relation to the use of parental leave to take care of their child. After the individuation of the legal framework of parental insurance plan in Quebec comparing it in the context of the Canadian legal system, the contribution deepens through qualitative methodology (i.e. case studies) the condition of parents highlighting both the relevant effects of the Program in promoting the use of parental leave, but also the resistances both from companies and parents that limit the success and the effectiveness of the QPLIP.
