Abstract
La gestion de la conservation de la biodiversité marine pose des défis sociaux et politiques nécessitant un éclairage que peuvent apporter les sciences humaines. Les aires marines protégées, outil utilisé par la France, concernent les départements d’outre-mer, notamment par la création d’un Parc naturel marin à la Martinique, dans la Caraïbe insulaire. Comment les dimensions humaines – ici la pêche artisanale – sont-elles prises en compte dans le modèle de conception du Parc ? Dans un contexte marqué par des revendications postcoloniales, quels sont les rapports sociaux établis entre les acteurs institutionnels et les pêcheurs dans la mise en œuvre d’un processus de conservation comme le Parc naturel marin ? Comment l’intérêt global rencontre-t-il les spécificités locales ? L’enquête sociologique menée en 2017 auprès d’une soixantaine de pêcheurs, enrichie d’une analyse des relations entre acteurs, permet d’une part d’identifier le rapport patrimonial particulier des pêcheurs à la biodiversité marine et d’autre part de comprendre comment et pourquoi la gestion globalisée et technocratique de la biodiversité marine se heurte aux représentations socioculturelles locales tout en s’intégrant dans des rapports centre (ou global)/périphérie (ou local) inégalitaires.
