Abstract
El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo: Estimar la situación nutricional e identificar los principales factores de riesgo en los estilos de vida de los estudiantes de la Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí (ULEAM). La investigación se realizó en 19 facultades y 35 carreras de la ULEAM, con una muestra representativa de 795 estudiantes. Se utilizó la técnica de la recolección de medidas antropométricas de peso y talla, y una encuesta sobre estilos de vida y factores de riesgo. Como resultado se obtuvo que un 28,8% de los estudiantes presentan sobrepeso, un 10,4% obesidad y un 3,8% delgadez. El sobrepeso y la obesidad llegan al 39,2% lo que se constituye en un problema de Salud Pública.
