Abstract
L’article analyse les causes et les raisons de l’absence persistante du problème de la compassion dans la sociologie bulgare depuis la fin de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale jusqu’à nos jours. Pour expliquer ce vide thématique et conceptuel dans deux contextes politiques, économiques et idéologiques fort différents – l’un dominé par l’État-parti communiste, l’autre de la reconstruction libérale et démocratique de la société bulgare – la réflexion procède par un détour linguistique, historique et empirique. L’absence de reconnaissance sociale de la compassion dans la société totalitaire de type communiste et la défiance généralisée dans la société post-totalitaire sont considérées comme des caractéristiques de l’état du lien social révélatrices tant des carences de pratiques compassionnelles que des défaillances de la posture épistémologique de la sociologie en Bulgarie.
