Abstract
The article deals with the evolution of American conservatism since the onset of the United State to modern times — from federalists to Donald Trump. The author also explains what historic circumstances had an impact on this process. The article is relevant amidst the growth of conservative sentiments in the U. S. and the ongoing confrontation between liberalism and conservatism before the 2020 presidential race. The novelty of the article is about its approaches: the author reassesses American conservatism while relying on historical and modern contexts, presenting original periodization of U. S. conservatism and explaining this phenomenon from the ontological and philosophical points of view.
