Cet article s’appuie sur le cadre théorique de l’interactionnisme symbolique pour décrire les dynamiques éducatives ayant cours dans les camps de migrants sis aux portes de l’Union européenne. Il découle d’une enquête de terrain menée entre février 2016 et août 2019 en Grèce, Macédoine du nord, Serbie, Italie et France. L’objectif de la recherche est de démontrer que sous certaines conditions, en passant par la qualification des camps en tant qu’institutions totales et la définition de la « forme-école », les écoles sont capables de devenir un levier de propagation du bien-être et catalyser la détotalisation des camps.
