Giverny est un village normand qui a servi pendant plus de quarante ans (de 1883 à 1926) de résidence principale à Claude Monet, le chef de file de l’impressionnisme. Giverny est présenté comme un lieu exceptionnel créé par un grand artiste, il s’en dégage une image idéale, romantique qui ne fait que renforcer le mythe d’un jardin extraordinaire qu’il faut absolument visiter. Les auteures s’intéressent à la réalité d’un territoire tiraillé entre développement touristique et bien-être de sa population. Un endroit à visiter sans doute mais est-ce un endroit où vivre ?
