Abstract
This article attempts to study the works on the missionary activity of Innokenty Veniaminov in the Yakut region, to determine the degree of study of the problem, as well as to establish the stages of studying the topic and the contribution of researchers to the analysis of the problem. The chronological framework of the work from the position of historiographical context covers the period from the second quarter of the XIX century to the present. In the pre-revolutionary period, Christianization played an important role as a unifying factor in relations between peoples. The study considers the basic work on studying the contributions of St. innocent Veniaminov in Yakutsk region, and establishes stages of studying the topic, characteristics of periods and the contribution of research scientists in the analysis of the problem. The article also provides a brief analysis of the first translated publications in the Yakut language, which constitute the main source base of the work.
