Abstract
A two-dimensional graphene isotope superlattice lattice of carbon 12 and carbon 13 shows a fascinating Raman scattering response: two phonons from different isotope regions are emitted in a single Raman process, leading to the tripling of the corresponding Raman peak. This occurs when the mean free path of the photoexcited electron is larger than the superlattice period and can be understood in terms of a real-space picture of Raman scattering.
