Abstract
Au coeur de l’approche psychothérapeutique humaniste, plus particulièrement de son courant existentiel, réside la recherche d’authenticité. La clinique témoigne de l’intensité de la souffrance, pouvant aller jusqu’à prendre la forme d’idéations suicidaires, lorsque l’être est entravé dans ce cheminement. Nous croyons que l’entrave à pouvoir être soi-même est centrale dans le vécu des personnes trans. Dans cet article, nous nous proposons de présenter certaines conditions jugées essentielles dans l’accompagnement de la recherche identitaire du genre à travers la perspective de la psychologie humaniste-existentielle, qui fait de la capacité d’actualisation de la personne un élément central du travail thérapeutique. Le texte, sous la forme d’un essai théorique et herméneutique, présente des réflexions sur la clinique trans qui laissent également place à la réflexivité des autrices, toutes trois travaillant en psychologie clinique (la première autrice de ce texte s’identifiant comme femme transgenre et les deux autres autrices comme femmes cisgenres).
