Abstract
L’approche de la réponse à l’intervention (RàI) a d’abord été proposée pour résoudre un problème associé à l’identification des élèves qui affrontent des difficultés d’apprentissage sévères. Elle s’est graduellement transformée en une approche éducative axée sur la prévention des difficultés d’apprentissage et un système de soutien à la réussite de tous les élèves. L’objectif du présent article est de décrire les grandes étapes de cette transformation ainsi que les principales caractéristiques d’un modèle de soutien à paliers multiples. Nous explicitons également le lien entre la réponse à l’intervention et les autres articles dans ce numéro thématique, notamment la gestion de la mise en oeuvre de cette approche préventive et son élargissement à l’enseignement de la mathématique et à la régulation du comportement. Enfin, nous discutons l’apport de la réponse à l’intervention en éducation.
