Abstract

Perfect binary or ternary sequences exhibit an impulse-like Periodic Autocorrelation Function (PACF). Signals with perfect periodic autocorrelation properties are useful in many applications in communications and radar fields. The additional complexity in the design of radar signals is to take care of the cross-correlation properties when multiple radars are sharing the same frequency band. This paper proposes the waveform design approach related to the multi-radar network, when radars are employing coherent pulse train or CW waveforms. Such practical scenario demands the design of waveforms which have perfect autocorrelation and cross-correlation properties. Construction procedure, correlation properties and detection performance of such sequences are presented in this paper.
