La novelística de Imanol Caneyada (San Sebastián, 1968) refiere al mundo del narco en sus múltiples aristas. Un escritor español afincado en México desarrolla una obra que lo mismo habla de una ciudad estándar del norte de México donde suceden actos de corrupción que de la desapacible Quebec canadiense en invierno: en ambas geografías la violencia asociada al narcotráfico se conforma como eje narrativo y marco cultural. Este trabajo, en tanto lectura crítica de dos de sus novelas, enmarcadas dentro de la novela criminal, permite apreciar convergencias en su construcción narrativa en torno a una construcción hiperrealista que trasciende los límites geográficos.
