La societe quebecoise est une societe vieillissante a cause de la chute tres rapide de la natalite et de l’allongement constant de l’esperance de vie. A l’interieur de l’Eglise quebecoise, ce mouvement s’accentue, car la generation des adultes actuels a largement deserte l’Eglise suite a ce que, au Quebec, on appelle la Revolution tranquille. La tentation serait de maintenir le statu quo coute que coute. Il faudra plutot avoir le courage d’inventer une Eglise nouvelle, depouillee du pouvoir et axee sur le service et le temoignage de l’esperance, une esperance nue. Nombre de communautes religieuses explorent cette voie avec serenite.
